Nightwater Items

Wood, stone, clay, wheat, gears, pipes, harvesters — the materials and machines the island actually runs on.

Nightwater Items Catalog Hub

Nightwater is a resource game first. Official copy promises 20+ unique resources and 100+ buildings, crafts, and buffs once every biome is open. The demo will not show that entire warehouse. This hub is the index for what we can document without inventing a fake database.

Use the three child pages instead of scrolling a 200-row spreadsheet that does not exist yet:

  • Resources — nodes you punch or harvest: wood, stone, clay, wheat, ore, and the crafted intermediates they become.
  • Buildings — harvesters, crushers, chests, pipes, assemblers, farmers, and how to move them for free.
  • Crafting — planks, gears, oil, bricks, and the milestone bars that unlock recipes.

If you are still in the first hour, read Getting Started before you memorize names. If pipes already exist, jump to automation.

How items are gated

Nothing important is sold in a cash shop. Nightwater is a single-player Steam game. Items unlock when a resource milestone fills or when a minigame pays a building back into the overworld. The parchment Milestones menu is the catalogue.

That means the “tier” of an item is not a rarity gem. It is an age: primitive sticks and stones, Bronze Age, Industrial Era, then further. Demo players live in the first column. Launch on 18 September 2026 should open the rest.

What we refuse to fake

This wiki will not publish a complete 100-entry craft list from memory. Recipes on screen override anything written here. Names such as wooden tote, primitive plant former, and squeezer appeared in playthroughs; they may be renamed. When Studio Ashty ships a patch that shuffles costs, updates is the place we will note it.

What we will keep accurate: the verbs. Harvest, store, pipe, assemble, expand. If a new biome adds mushrooms or desert brick, it still has to pass through those verbs.

Demo versus launch stock

The demo contains The Woods’ full milestone items plus Dark Thicket’s minigame currencies. Mountains items are visible enough to tease and locked enough to frustrate. Do not reset your save because a Mountains resource will not complete. That is the advertised cap.

Full-game numbers (20+ resources, 60+ buildings) are marketing counts for 1.0, not a promise that the demo HUD will show 20 bars.

Where to go next

Nightwater items are never shared with another player. There is no shared stash and no trading. Your chest of planks is yours, including the ugly stack you forgot to pipe.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How many resources are in Nightwater?

Studio Ashty lists over 20 unique resources in the full game. The demo only uses the Woods set plus Dark Thicket currencies.

Where is the crafting menu?

A parchment-style Select Craft UI shows icons such as planks, gears, and bricks. Unlock recipes through resource milestones, not a vendor.

Can I trade items?

No. Nightwater is single-player. There is no trading and no shared inventory.

Do minigames use different items?

Yes. Dark Thicket trees drop minigame-specific resources you spend on that skill parchment, then bring buildings and buffs home.
